Finnari is used by people all over the world, so this policy is written to cover everyone, not just one country. It's still written in plain language on purpose.
Last updated: 10 August 2026
Finnari is operated by Stacked Global LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, USA ("Finnari", "we", "us"). This policy covers the Finnari mobile app and this website (finnari.app), for users anywhere in the world.
What we collect depends on how you use Finnari:
Ordinary bank and transaction data (balances, merchant names, amounts) is treated as standard personal data, not a special "sensitive" category, but we still handle it with extra care, because we know it's your money. We don't use spending patterns to infer or label anything about your health, religion, or similar sensitive characteristics.
We do not use your financial data to show you ads, and we do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, data protection law requires us to have a specific reason for handling your information. Ours are:
If you choose to link a bank account, the connection is handled by Plaid Inc., a banking-data provider used by thousands of financial apps. When you link an account:
Plaid's own privacy policy governs how it handles your data during this process. You can find it at plaid.com/legal, and by using Plaid through Finnari, you acknowledge and agree that your information will also be treated in accordance with that policy.
By default, your budgeting data is stored securely on your own device. If you turn on account sync (so your data follows you across devices), an encrypted copy is stored with our backend provider, hosted in the United States, so only you can read it.
Because our servers are in the US, using Finnari from the EU, UK, or elsewhere means your data may be transferred internationally. Where required, we rely on recognized legal safeguards for these transfers (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission) to keep your data protected to the same standard wherever it's processed.
Each of these only receives the minimum data needed to do its job for you. Any financial account data we receive from Plaid is handled in line with applicable financial privacy law, not just general privacy law.
Wherever you're located, you can:
If you're in the EU or UK, you also have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your data, and to object to certain uses of it. Contact us below to exercise any of these.
If you're in California or another US state with its own privacy law, you may have similar rights, including the right to know what we collect and to ask us to delete it. Some of these categories (like a linked financial account or login credentials) count as "sensitive" information under California law. To be clear: we don't sell or share your information for advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of on that front, but you're welcome to contact us with any request regardless of where you live.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the app's features (like showing your transaction history). If you delete your account, we delete your data within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep limited records for legal or fraud-prevention reasons. We use industry-standard safeguards (like encryption for synced data) to protect your information, though no system is ever 100% guaranteed secure.
If a data breach ever put your information at meaningful risk, we'll notify affected users and, where legally required, the relevant regulator, without undue delay.
Finnari is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
